Steve Rockman is a versatile entertainer who has been involved in the music industry for over 25 years. Steve recently moved to the Tropical Far North to enjoy all that the region has to offer and entertain locals and international visitors.

With his years of experience, Steve has perfected his craft and in the short time he has called Cairns home, Steve has become a highly sought after entertainer and has gained a reputation as one of the finest vocalists in the region.

His career started in Melbourne during the 80’s with bands, Modern Rio, (a band that came runner up in the 1984 Melbourne Battle of the Bands, and was judged by Music industry icons Brian Cadd and Vanetta Fields), and later with popular independent touring and recording rock outfit “WILDLIFE”, Steve Co-wrote the award winning song Black or White and co-wrote the bands Albums with Benn Manie.. They shared the stage with acts such as Cliff Richard, Larry Norman, Servant, DeGarmo and Key Band, and toured the East Coast playing venues from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and Festival Hall in Melbourne to far flung Queensland country pubs and clubs.. The band was also invited to tour the USA in the early eighties.

In the 90’s Steve then forged ahead with other projects, playing in Boom Bang for several years before joining JJ St., a popular Melbourne cover band. In the meantime Steve worked on his solo acoustic show as well as performing as a pianist and perfecting his craft as a solo performer.

In recent years, Steve re-united with his close friend and musical collaborator Benn Manie, to form “The Rock Dogs”. The Rock Dogs were highly sought after for weddings and corporate functions due to their professional sound and high quality vocal abilities.

Steve prides himself on being able to customize a performance to the crowd he is performing to. With a repertoir of over 450 songs, Steve can tailor his performance to suit any event. From laid back smooth background sounds to a high energy sing along performance. Steve’s stylish acoustic covers range from 70s, 80s and 90s classics, through to recent chart toppers.
